The third edition of Southeast Asia Blockchain Week (SEABW) is scheduled to take place from May 18 to 24, 2026, in Bangkok, Thailand, according to an announcement from organizers Hashed and ShardLab. The primary conference sessions will be held at the True ICON Hall within ICON SIAM on May 20 and 21.

The event is organized by global Web3 venture capital firm Hashed and its innovation lab, ShardLab, in a strategic partnership with Thai financial technology group SCBX. SCBX will serve as the main sponsor for the 2026 iteration.

Core Themes and Program Structure

According to the organizers, the conference will focus on five specific areas: the regulatory frontier, institutional verticalization, Real World Assets (RWA) 2.0, the agentic economy, and the base layer imperative. The program includes a main stage for industry discussions and a spotlight stage for developer exhibitions.

The event will also feature a “Play to Build” hackathon designed to move projects from conceptual stages to product readiness. This will culminate in a Demo Day where developers present their work to potential investors.

Institutional and Regulatory Context

The organizers noted that the selection of Bangkok as the host city follows several regulatory developments in Thailand. These include the Thai SEC’s approval of cryptocurrency ETFs and regulated futures trading on the Thailand Futures Exchange (TFEX).

The Bank of Thailand has also initiated a programmable payment sandbox and provided formal approval for major stablecoins. These actions, alongside capital gains tax exemptions for certain digital asset activities, form the backdrop for this year’s regional gathering.

Participation and Access

For the 2026 edition, ShardLab announced that general admission tickets will be provided at no cost to the public to increase ecosystem access. However, certain segments of the event remain restricted.

Exclusive institutional roundtables will be held as closed-door sessions. According to the event organizers, these sessions are intended to facilitate direct contact between investment funds, infrastructure providers, and regional regulators.
